A newly released study from Niche.com determined the best school districts for 2020 by analyzing the “key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents” using data from the U.S. Department of Education.
Among the statistics that came into factor the rankings include state test scores, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, and others, which were on a weighted scale.

Westchester school districts to make the top 50 on the list include:
- Scarsdale Union Free School District (fourth);
- Bronxville Union Free School District (eighth);
- Chappaqua Central School District (13th);
- Byram Hills Central School District (14th);
- Edgemont Union Free School District (17th);
- Rye City School District (18th);
- Rye Neck Union Free School District (19th);
- Pelham Union Free School District (20th);
- Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District (22nd);
- Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District (24th);
- Mamaroneck Union Free School District (25th);
- Hastings-on-Hudson Union Free School District (28th);
- Yorktown Central School District (29th);
- Eastchester Union Free School District (37th);
- Harrison Central School District (43rd);
- Blind Brook-Rye Union Free School District (45th);
- Ardsley Union Free School District (47th)
